Sooraj R. Barjatya is set to revisit the familiar charm of monsoon romance with ‘Saawan Aaya Hai’, a romantic track featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari from his upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya. Known for bringing music and romance together in his films, the filmmaker has often used melodies and seasonal settings to capture emotions on screen. From ‘Yeh Mausam Ka Jaadu Hai Mitwa’ in Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! to the rain sequence in ‘Mhare Hiwda Mein Naache Mor’ from Hum Saath Saath Hain, his films have featured songs that remain associated with their romantic storytelling.
With ‘Saawan Aaya Hai’, Barjatya returns to a similar musical space, using the monsoon as the backdrop for a romantic sequence featuring Ayushmann and Sharvari. The song also sets the mood for Diwali week, with the preparations and cleaning for the festival bringing the family together. Against this setting, the track captures the two actors sharing moments in the rain, exchanging glances and recreating the charm of old-school Bollywood romance. Rather than relying on elaborate expressions, the song allows the music and the moments shared by the lead pair to convey the emotions.
Composed by Himesh Reshammiya, ‘Saawan Aaya Hai’ has been sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Keshav Anand, with lyrics penned by Mayur Puri. The collaboration brings together Shreya's vocals and Himesh's composition for a melody rooted in the familiar style of Hindi film romance. Music has remained an important part of Barjatya's storytelling, with several songs from his films continuing to find listeners across generations. The new track adds to that musical approach in his upcoming film.
Three decades after making his debut as a filmmaker with a major Bollywood success, Barjatya returns to a familiar romantic setting with Ayushmann and Sharvari taking on the roles of Prem and his leading lady. The song also features the film's ensemble cast, which includes Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, Seema Pahwa, Saumya Tandon, Swanand Kirkire, Shaad Randhawa, Shruti Seth, Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Krish Rao and Ashnoor Kuckreja.
