Hrithik Roshan reveals he was on the ‘verge of depression’ while shooting for War; says, ‘he was about to die’

Hrithik Roshan opened up about how his obsession with fitness pushed him over to the edge during the shoot of War.

Last seen in Vikram Vedha, Hrithik Roshan always had a body that was enviable and that has left his female fans swooning over him for years. The superstar continues to follow a health regime and opened up about it to fitness trainer Kris Gethin. The latter too has worked with Junior Roshan and has trained him to achieve the enviable bod that Hrithik boasts of. In a recent podcast, the Krrish actor opened up about his physical transformation when he was shooting for the action entertainer War and revealed how his obsession to achieve perfection left him on the verge of depression and with a feeling that he described as ‘where he was about to die’.

Talking about how his strict and rigorous fitness regime destroyed his health during the time of shooting for War, in a podcast with celebrity fitness trainer Kris Gethin. Hrithik Roshan said, "I feel as light and as fast as our last transformation. I thought I was dying when I was doing War. I wasn't prepared for the film and I was up against a really big challenge. I was trying to achieve perfection for which I wasn't ready. After the film, I went into adrenaline fatigue. For 3-4 months, I couldn't train, wasn't feeling good. I was almost on the verge of depression. I was completely lost and that's when I knew I needed to make a change in my life."

For the unversed, War featured Hrithik Roshan in the role of a spy. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, also starred Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor playing lead roles. In the same interview, the actor confessed that the important lesson he has learnt is that, in case of maintaining physical fitness, he needs to adapt it and make it a part of his lifestyle and continue with it, irrespective of the films and roles he is playing in reel life.

Talking about current work commitments, Hrithik Roshan will next be seen in the role of an Airforce pilot alongside Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, and others in Fighter, which is slated for release on January 25, 2024.
