Sanjay Dutt to return in 3 months to complete shoot for KGF 2, says executive producer Karthik Gowda : Bollywood News

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and will soon be flying to the USA for his treatment. On Tuesday, the actor had announced that he will be taking a short break from work for medical reasons. His absence will lead to films like Bhuj, Shamshera, Prithviraj and KGF 2 going off track.

Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist in the Kannada film KGF 2 which is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Before the lockdown, the makers had announced that the film will be released on October 23. Dutt's first look as Adheera was released on July 29 on the occasion of his birthday.

In an interview with a daily, Karthik Gowda, executive producer of Hombale Films which has bankrolled both KGF and KGF 2 said that the actor will return in three months after his treatment is over to complete the film. He said that he spoke to Dutt two days back.

Karthik said that they have a total of 20 days left to shoot to complete the fim. Sanjay Dutt has three days of shoot left. Karthik said that the film will not be released on October 23 owing to COVID-19 and also because theatres are yet to open up.

KGF 2 will narrate the story of a power struggle between Rocky (Yash) and Adheera(Dutt). Directed by Prashant Neel, the film also stars Srinidhi Shetty and Raveena Tandon.
