Tom Cruise heaps praises for Ezra Miller’s DC superhero film The Flash; says, “It’s everything you want in a movie”

Hollywood star Tom Cruise has reportedly raved about DC’s much anticipated superhero film The Flash, starring Ezra Miller as the speedster. As per reports, the A-lister asked makers for a private screening to watch the film early.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, in late February, Cruise had a meeting with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, during which the mogul mentioned how great the movie was. Cruise, curiosity piqued, then asked to see it. Zaslav acquiesced to the request, and a copy of the movie was sent over to Cruise.

Upon Cruise’s request, the film was brought to Cruise’s Beverly Hills home where the actor watched it. After finishing the film, Cruise reached out to Muschietti to rave about the film saying that The Flash is “everything you want in a movie” and “this is the kind of movie we need now,” according to insiders.

Previously, DC Studios’ new boss James Gunn also had some positive words to share on the film which will reset the DC Universe. Speaking of the film, Gunn said that The Flash is “one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.” The Flash has seen quite a bumpy road in the course of its making with numerous director changes and lead actor Miller's multiple controversies.

In August last year, Miller released a statement saying they have “gone through a time of intense crisis” and had begun treatment for mental illness. Miller reprises their role as Barry Allen in the DC Super Hero’s first-ever standalone feature film. The Flash ensemble also includes Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue and Michael Keaton.

Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash is set to open in theaters on June 16, 2023.
