After Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor’s explosive looks as Rani Padmini and Maharawal Ratan Singh from Padmavati, Ranveer Singh's looks arrived around 1:30 am on Tuesday that has set everyone's hearts racing.

FIRST LOOK: WHOA! Ranveer Singh’s menacing look as Sultan Alauddin Khilji in Padmavati

Just like others, Ranveer Singh also released two of his looks from his upcoming film and simply captioned them, "SULTAN ALAUDDIN KHILJI." One of the pictures of Ranveer shows him in a bath with his tresses loose as he gives a menacing gaze which is daunting.

In another picture, Ranveer Singh is seen in his royal avatar wearing a golden crown, sporting a scar while looking into a mirror- which indirectly could mean the moment Alauddin Khilji saw Rani Padmini’s reflection in a mirror and was mesmerized by her beauty.

Padmavati is based on folklore that 14th-century ruler Alauddin Khilji who fell for the queen of Chittor, Rani Padmini. The two of them never met in their lives but Rani Padmini refused to be with Alauddin Khilji. Choosing the honour over a life, Rani Padmini and the other women of Chittor had burnt themselves by leaping into a fire – a practice called Jauhar.
