FIRST LOOK: Dhanush starrer Maari 2 look unveiled and audiences are waiting to see the ‘Naughtiest Don’ in action 2 : Bollywood News

Well, do you remember Maari, the naughtiest gangster with his authentic style of saying ‘Senjiruven’! If you do, then it is great news for many fans like these, who are eagerly awaiting the return of Dhanush in the Maari avatar. This Friday, the makers decided to showcase the first look of the second instalment of this gangster drama by taking to social media platform.

Director of the film, Balaji Mohan decided to take to Twitter to share the poster of Maari 2 along with a quirky caption referring to the ‘Naughtiest Don’. He said, “The Naughtiest Don of our times is back! ??#Maari2 In theatres Dec 2018! #Maari2FirstLook #Senjiruven @dhanushkraja @thisisysr @Sai_Pallavi92 @Actor_Krishna @varusarath @ttovino RoboShanker @omdop @amaranart @editor_prasanna @vasukibhaskar @silvastunt @vinod_offl @KalloriVino.” Dhanush too retweeted the same.

Coming to Maari 2, the film will have Om Prakash as the cinematographer and Prasanna G K as the editor. Furthermore, the interesting fact is that Dhanush will be reuniting with Yuvan Shankar Raja post quite some time now, after he replaced Anirudh Ravichander in this instalment. There are also a few additions in the acting front in the form of actress Sai Pallavi, Tovino Thomas, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar amongst others.

As for Maari, it featured Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role. Ever since the first instalment, which released three years ago in 2015, the film has been famous for Dhanush’s look. The actor’s veshti and colourful shirt had become iconic along with the glasses he sported. And interestingly, in this installement the makers have maintained the essence of Maari.

Coming to the role essayed by Dhanush, Maari in the film is seen as a local gangster who tries to extort money from people. However, his life goes for a toss when he meets the upcoming entrepreneur Sridevi. What follows is a series of twists and turns whereby he gets arrested for a murder that he probably didn’t commit.
