As soon as the trailer of Madras Cafe hit the web, speculations were on the rise claiming that the movie depicts certain elements of LTTE, for which many Tamil Nadu outfits have raised an objection too.

However, John Abraham, who is also the producer of the film has maintained that there are no offensive statements or scenes in the movie and also claimed that the word 'Terrorists' also has been avoided. But when it comes to LTTE, the rest of the cast and crew, have remained tight lipped about the controversy. None of them have neither admitted nor denied the news publicly. However, an exclusive still from the film with Ajay Ratnam essaying the role of Anna, bears a striking resemblance to the LTTE leader Prabhakaran. We wonder if the similarity is just a coincidence or probably it does confirm the fact that the movie indeed is based on LTTE.
Madras Cafe stars John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri, Siddhartha Basu and is directed by Shoojit Sircar. The movie is slated to release on August 23.
