Atul Kulkarni roped in to play freedom fighter Tatya Tope in Kangna Ranaut starrer Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi

Kangna Ranaut has been quite in news lately for her upcoming passion project Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi. The actress has been giving it all to the role and learning sword-fighting to do full justice to her Rani Laxmibai character. Now, it has been learnt that Atul Kulkarni has been roped in to play Ramchandra Pandurang Tope aka Tatya Tope in the film.

Atul Kulkarni began his work for the film on July 18 earlier this month with rigorous training in both horse-riding and sword-fighting. The actor himself shared the news on his social media stating that he is starring in this ambitious project. He started shooting with five days of intense sword fighting. He revealed that this is something he has never done before and that he is even doing all of his stunts. Atul Kulkarni also shared a couple of photographs from his horse riding training session and introduced his horse to everyone. He wrote ‘New Film, New Friend - Raakaa!’

Atul Kulkarni is known to be an ace actor who is no stranger to historical characters. Earlier, the actor had played the role of Ramprasad Bismil in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang De Basanti.

Directed by Krish, Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi is scheduled for April 27, 2018, release.
