Wajah Tum Ho was slated for release a couple of weeks back. However, the makers [T-Series] decided to push it ahead due to the demonetization issue. It was the right move too since majority of film's audiences cater to single screens visit and there was no ways they would have preferred watching a movie over managing their cash funds. The films that released in the interim period, Kahaani 2 and Befikre, were primarily multiplex affairs and hence they couldn't really cover the distance due to the content, and not demonetization worries.
However, the real test for Bollywood Box Office would be this week since Wajah Tum Ho would clearly establish if demonetization is continuing to impact the ticket sales. The film doesn't have anything else for competition since there is no other major film in the running. As a matter of fact there are no worries whatsoever for the Vishal Pandya film at the single screens since it is totally starved of any new content. Of course the film has its own battles to fight since it doesn't have any star appeal per se. The music is pleasant sounding which should go well with the narrative. However, for that audiences need to step in first.
The last erotic thriller to do well was Hate Story 3 which had released exactly a year ago and had practically the same team of producer [T-Series], director [Vishal Pandya] and actor [Sharman Joshi]. It was a well-made film that had allowed the collections to cross Rs. 50 crore. Now that Wajah Tum Ho is hitting the screens, one expects an opening day of at least Rs. 3-4 crore in order for it to make a mark at the Box Office.
