Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet - Ek Prem Katha has showed growth on Saturday. The film brought in Rs. 17.10 crore on Saturday after collecting Rs. 13.10 crore on Friday. In fact the film's first Saturday is better than what Jab Harry Met Sejal had collected on its second day [Rs. 15 crore].
A jump was always on the cards since the film had shown good growth towards the evening and night shows on Friday itself. When something like that happens, a film is bound to collect well on its second day. With good word of mouth going in its favor, the film has now collected Rs. 30.20 crore already. What needs to be seen is how big does the film turn out to be on Sunday so that it comes close to the Rs. 50 crore mark.
Earlier this year, Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 had enjoyed a weekend of Rs. 50.46 crore and for Toilet - Ek Prem Katha this could well turn out to be a touch and go number. Nonetheless, where the film gains from is the fact that tomorrow is a partial holiday too (due to Janmashtami) due to which Sunday night shows are expected to better. Moreover, Monday hold would be much better too when compared to a regular Monday and that would help the film gain at least a couple of crore more too.
All in all, the Shree Narayan Singh directed film is now set well to be a success and it would be growth today and then on Tuesday holiday [Independence Day] which would decide how much further ahead would it go in its quest for the 100 Crore Club.
