Ever since the promotion of Befikre kick-started, there have been diverse views around what it could possibly offer. Reactions were polarized to some extent right from the time the track 'Labon Ka Karobaar' was released to the arrival of the theatrical promo. While Ranveer Singh's infectious energy has found good attention coming its way, the theme of the film as well as the treatment (basis the promo) has made one wonder what Befikre actually has to offer. The legacy that Aditya Chopra carries is a major factor coming into play as well since Befikre is clearly miles apart from what he has made so far.
What has kept the film pretty much alive and well hyped over the weeks is a series of songs that have been released. Vishal-Shekhar and Jaideep Sahni's 'Ude Dil Befikre' and 'Nashe Si Chad Gayi' have been widely liked and since the songs are eye catchy too, youth has been enticed. That means a chunk of film-going element should step in for Befikre when it releases tomorrow. However, the real surprise would be to see audiences in the elderly age group to step in by the night shows and then over rest of the weekend. That would happen only if the word spreads that Befikre is eventually a quintessential Yash Raj film.
As of now, the film would do well if it ends up crossing Rs. 10 crore at the Box Office on the opening day. Aditya Chopra's last release, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi [2008] had a slow start of just Rs. 7 crore despite the presence of Shah Rukh Khan. However, it had gone up to Rs. 83 crore in the final run. A slightly better kick-start with a double digit opening would be good enough to set some sort of platform for Befikre.
