‘Gangster’ team in ‘Metro’? Click here to add this article to My Clips

By Taran Adarsh, May 9, 2006 - 09:46 IST

There’s talk that Anurag Basu, the director of GANGSTER, is planning to repeat the two lead characters of the film, Emraan Hashmi and Shiny Ahuja, in his next venture METRO. Unlike GANGSTER, which was filmed almost entirely in South Korea, the new film is expected to be shot in Mumbai.

“Shiny is confirmed for METRO, but Emraan is not,” Anurag sheds light on his new project, “We are in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. A clearer picture will emerge in a few days from now.”

What is METRO all about? “It’s a love story with lots of emotional moments,” the maker of MURDER and GANGSTER enlightens, “It peeps into the day-to-day life of a person living in a metropolis and how his personal life takes a complete backseat. And that’s when relationships begin to stagnate. Every working individual has so many things to look into, right from raising money, to paying the monthly expenses, to meeting professional deadlines. It’s a slice of life film.”

Anurag plans to start METRO without any delay. “The script is ready. Only the nitty-gritty needs to be sorted out,” he smiles.
