  Trivia
The Censor Board had clipped some scenes of Dostana. The Board had objected to a scene in which John Abraham tells Priyanka Chopra that Abhishek Bachchan is napunsak (impotent) and Priyanka giggles. The Board also objected to a background score which sounds like an expletive What the f***. After Karan Johar muted the two things, the film was been given a U/A certificate.

Dharma Productions compensated Pritish Nandy Communications with a whopping Rs 3 crore for the copyright of the song Kuch Kum. The song was recorded for a film titled Na Jaane Kaise for PNC which was to be directed by Tarun. But nothing materialised beyond that and Tarun went on to direct Dostana. PNC was compensated after it raised this issue with Dharma Productions.

Producer Karan Johar kept a special screening of the film Dostana for members of the gay community GayBom-bay.
