CDB Musical Production, Anjum Rizvi Film Co., Manoj Adhikari Production and Pugmark Films Pvt. Ltd.’s Maatr is a revenge drama about a mother whose daughter gets raped in front of her own eyes. The film stars Vidya (Raveena Tandon), who is a teacher by profession, is excited about her daughter... Tia (Alisha Khan) winning the first prize in the school competition. While going home, both, Vidya and Tia get raped by a politician’s corrupt son and his gang of equally corrupt friends.

While Tia succumbs to her injuries, Vidya lives on to take revenge, after she realises that the police is of no any use to them. Does Vidya become successful in forming a one woman army and punish the corrupt and the influential or does she give in to the pressures is what forms rest of the film.
